Qbitorrent download speed goes really high, then crashes down to 0 B/s constantly and hangs my computer
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I have been downloading and using torrents for several years now and it's the first time something like this has happened to me. As the title says any time I start up Qbitorrent the download speeds go up really high really quickly, then crashes all the way down to 0 B/s, stays there, then hangs my computer. I can't do anything on my computer when this happens. all my windows and programs just hang. Sometimes my whole desktop will freeze. I'll try to close the program in task manager and it just hangs there for a solid 10ish minutes, then my computer snaps back and works completely fine. Over the years it'll drop speed like this randomly here and there but it always worked itself out. Not at all this time. I thought maybe if I leave it for a bit it'll work itself out but no it doesn't. I thought maybe I'll leave it on overnight and it'll work out, but nope it didn't. My downloads with many seeders barely moved. Even redownloading an old torrent slowed right down to barely anything. I have no idea why it's doing this, I can't think of anything new or different than what I've always been doing for years.
I thought well maybe it's qbitorrent, so I attempted again with Utorrent. The same exact problem of high speed off the bat then crashes down to 0 B/s. The only difference with Utorrent is that it doesn't hang my computer when the speed crash happens. So then I thought it was the torrent that I was trying to download, so I deleted it. Still the same thing. I deleted everything and got a completely new torrent. Still the same thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled qbitorrent, still the same thing! I've run virus scans with Malwarebytes, restarted my computer several times, applied windows updates, restarted my router... Still the same thing every time! I have no idea why it's doing this. For the life of me, I can't figure it out. No matter what I do as long as the torrent clients are closed my computer works completely fine when they're open now... it's just problems.
Does anyone know what else I can do to resolve this issue? It's really baffling me. All my torrent client settings have been the same and worked all the time, it's just for some reason yesterday it's just not working, I didn't change anything. Any help would be appreciated!
