Im currently in possession of 2 great laptops the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (Ryzen 9 4900HS RTX 2060Max-Q) And the Razer Blade Base Model 2020 (Intel i7-10750H RTX 2060 Max-P).
I thought by buying both and having hands on experience is better and would make a great divide on which to keep, but it made matters worst as I wanna keep the both of them now lol (I really shouldn't so don't be putting ideas in my mind 😅 😂🤣).
They both have really great feel and to be frank I'm no computer or technological wizard, Im the average guy who wants to play some Witcher 3, Cs:Go, Middle Earth and other RPG while being able to trade, Do some light work stuff like on my laptop. I dont do video editing or content creating, but I do want that future proofability I like a to call it even for just 2 years. As games might get more CPU intensive.
Here are my Personal Pro & Con on both of em.
Razer Blade Base Model 2020 Intel i7-10750H 10th Gen RTX 2060 Max-P (Full mobile power variant, about 10-15% more than Max-Q according to some people) 512GB SSD 16GB DDR4 2900ish (2 upgradable slot) 15.6" 144Hz 100%RGB $2,280ish CAD From Amazon.ca also.
PROS: -Razer Prestige (lets face it, if were prioritizing specs alone you wouldn't buy a Razer) -144Hz 100% RGB screen is flawless and stunning, nice size and good brightness. -Keyboard RGB Lighting significantly better than G14, also customizable (Single-Zone but still damn good) -Webcam (720p is better than nothing) -I got it on sale for $2280ish, Original price was around $2599+ CAD. Saved $300ish -Simple yet Slick design. -More quiet than G14 -Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) usefull for my portable Monitor. -Stronger GPU by 10-15% -Free Digital Marvels Avenger Game.
CONS: -Surface gets 🔥, Though I live in Canada 🇨🇦 so 🔥 in winter Ain't all that bad. Lol -Battery life is MEH, 2-4 Hours is kinda 🤦♂️ -Finger print magnet? Try Finger Print Whore. Gotta get myself some dbrand skin. -Speakers.... get a headset.. 🤐 -CPU gets slaughtered when you compare it to G14s -Bad Customer Service from what I heard? -Keyboards are alright, but jeez I really expected much from a "Gaming Laptop" -They Should put Exhaust on the side so the damn surface isn't so hot.
Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 Ryzen 9 4900HS RTX 2060 Max-Q 1TB SSD 16GB Ram DRR4 3200(1 upgradable slot, 8GB is Soldered) 14" 1080p 120Hz screen AniMe Matrix Display $2,260ish CAD From Amazon.ca
PROS: -Very light, like Lets play Frisbee light. -Better Keyboard than Razer blade for me. -That Ryzen 9 puts that i7 10th Gen to shame. 🙊 -AniMe Matrix (Very Unique) so Unique maybe 20 if not 10 has it in your area. Lol I've already got Ricardo Milos in mine. -Dolby Atmos cough
on the G14 has some dope Bass for its little size. I can proudly put it to max and not feel stupid lol. -C Cable Charging. -Sufrace is nice and cooler in temp than Razer. -Nice design and what I would call a Sleeper in the laptop world. -RTX 2060Max-Q makes the Thermals 5-10° better than razer when comparing same game on same settings. Im doing witcher 3 at ultra 70-75FPS at 70° tops -Touch ID log in. 😎 -Gaming wise can definitely keep up with the Razer surprisingly with Max Q. -Battery life well it beats razer for damn sure 👍
CONS: -Summons the wind of the seven seas (exaggerated) but Fans do get decent noise, I dont think it will bother anyone. They would be too busy watching my AniMe Matrix lol. -A lot of software tinkering, might prove frustrating to some people. -If say you get bad QC or claim for a warranty. Goodluck as the quantity of these things are non-existence. Sold out every where or huge mark up for the demand. -In the event you get dirt on the LED holes what then? 🤔 -You'll be waiting for a lot of time for Replacements or Online Orders. -Backlight keyboard even with the software update are still MEH.
Im leaning more towards the Razer as I dont need that 8 cores really, but the G14 is a one-of-a-kind package. There are plenty and better Razers out there but I bet you can't find a laptop with Ricardo Milo's on the back 😉
