I just finished watching Pretty Little Liars as a 23-year-old-guy and here are my thoughts:

Let's be honest, the first two seasons were fantastic and true seasons. I love all Ali’s flashback’s scenes and it has some clever writing. The atmosphere was great too. That twist at the end of the 2nd season was damn good.
I feel the third season is greater and just better in every ways. I loved Maya's killer's storyline that had nothing to connect with "A", Halloween episode and that season finale was the best one, in my opinion.
After third season kinda started to feel like it's going around in the circle, but it wasn't bad. The fifth season is the MOST unrealistic one, and yet it was so much fun to watch for no specific reasons. Lots of stuff happened there, and I was just stuck watching that whole season.
I feel I’ve wasted time by watching the last two seasons. Those seasons are just trash, and I didn’t know why I haven’t stopped watching. I knew the series finale is going to sucks though, and the last episode was so damn terrible written. I loved 7A season though.
My ranking of seasons: 3,1,5,2,4,7,6.
Let's be honest, Troian is the only real actress who can actually act and deserves better projects IMO. Spencer is my personally favorite, but Hanna is a close second. She is just hilarious, and has some clever humour. Aria is just decent, I guess. Emily is such a poorly written character with so many horrible lines. I was just waiting that the writers to give a nice plotline for Emily that doesn’t revolve around romance and there was zero. That sucks because I loved Shay Mitchell in YOU. Flashback Ali is something special, I honestly loved her.
Aria and Ezra stuff is just gross. I was honestly fine with them as a couple because they met before school starts and I thought he was like 19 and she was 16 (only 3 years apart like irl, I think) until I found out he was 25 and used her for books, and she still dated with him. He should’ve died after A shooting him IMO.
I loved the relationship between Hanna and her mom, it was the best one.
The first reveal is great surprise. The second reveal is also surprising too, that whole story and twist were good, but I honestly I feel it’s such a waste and disappointment to tells us who is A after 130 episodes because of too many plot holes and questions. The third reveal is just SO stupid and most unrealistic thing of the entire show.
It should have been better if the show was shorter and had minus 60 episodes. It should have been better if it had less romances and more darkness. I think Spencer should've ended up being as the final girl, and Aria should have spent as the lead role in the first few seasons, then she dies first. I also think the show would have been better if every of each season had different lies, like Desperate Housewives.
Overall, it’s a fun show with some great characters, interesting stories about who is “A”. The first 3 seasons were the best, 4 & 5 are just fun and 6 & 7 are trash. That’s it. Any thoughts on PLL?
