How to administrate Windows 10 for my family
Yesterday was the culmination of a few months of research, a week of acquisition of parts and a half-day of assembly as I booted our new Windows 10 Professional computer for the first time.
Confession: I'm a Mac guy. Have been for 25 years, though I have some experience with Windows, including 2 years as an end-user in the Vista/7 timeframe at one of my jobs.
I'm also a web developer with technical knowledge and skill.
I set this Windows machine up for my family, mostly for gaming for my 7yo boy and I. But my wife will also use it.
My biggest issue so far is that I thought it would be easier to administrate.
I wanted our user folders on the separate, larger HDD instead of the SSD that boots Windows. I saw online that you shouldn't move the whole folder but the individual folders within it. Ok, that was tedious, but not too bad, but I did end of having to edit a few registry entries. Seemed excessive for my first day. (Why the heck standard users can even get to the registry by default is beyond me.)
Next, if I sideload an app and it litters all the accounts with shortcuts on the desktop or start menu, it seems like it should be easy for me to prevent that or at least be able to clean them up as an admin without having to log into each account as that user.
Also, it seems like I should be able to install Microsoft Store apps for any user as an admin and just have it show up for them, rather than have them go to the store, request install, me approve it, them go back in and get it. (For example, right now I wanted to just install Roblox via the store by the kid but had to jump through all these hoops.)
What am I missing? Do you know of any resource with information/tips about this topic? Googling just returns SO MUCH stuff that is barely related and it mostly geared towards the user wanting to do a thing, not an admin.

I'm new to this.
I've been playing roblox for a few years now and I recently got interested in this when I saw a guy flying across a map when he wasn't an admin. I play on both an imac and windows so I'm interested on how you would hack on each of these platforms.
