Skype drops every 5 minutes, like clockwork
My children’s grandparents all live pretty far away so we have weekly Skype calls to let everyone see and talk with each other. All of the calls go perfectly and without issue - except one.
Here's what I know: 1) 3 Skype calls per week 2) 2 Skype calls go perfectly; No Audio/Visual/Connection/Etc. issues of any kind 3) 1 Skype call (to my parents) experiences a network connection "hiccup" every 5 minutes [exactly every 5 minutes] 4) When the "hiccup" occurs Skype drops from his end and Skype has to reconnect the call 5) My parents have the technical skillsets of Jebediah Springfield, so I'm sure that fixing this is going to fall onto my remote lap 6) My parents have a Mac and my experience is with Windows based systems
Here's what I suspect: a) Given that the issue only occurs when skyping with my parents (and not when skyping with other systems) I suspect the issue is at their end b) My leading guess is that 'something' installed on his Mac desktop is 'phoning home' once every 5 minutes and somehow messing up their network connection.
ANY help or advice would be appreciated!
