How to get started? Any noob guides? My crew is super confused by BO4 Zombies...
Sorry if this has been posted before or if there's some widely-known guide; if so I can delete this post.
Note: I did complete the tutorial mode, but I'm still confused. I've found some walkthrough guides, but they seem like they’re full of spoilers.
This is the first time I've played a CoD game since splitscreen World at War: Nacht der Untoten on PS3. A few friends and I recently picked up BO4 and have been having a great time with Multiplayer and Blackout, but whenever we play Zombies it's a confusing, demoralizing mess. I want to have a better experience with Zombies, so I figured I'd come here for help.
With Nacht der Untoten, the goal was pretty much just trying to get to the highest round – hopefully with the ray gun. Zombies has clearly grown up A LOT since those early days and perhaps if I had all of the years of context along the way I wouldn't be so confused by what's going on, but as basically a team of complete noobs to the mode, the experience is pretty bad. So here are some questions that maybe you can answer!
Assume we're playing vanilla Zombies mode:
1 - What is the goal and can these maps be "beaten"?
2 - It feels like absolutely nothing is explained to you, e.g. "why are we on this boat / in this Egyptian(?) coliseum?", "who are these characters / how do they know each other?", "what are we supposed to do?", etc. Is there a place that explains this?
3 - Sometimes we find items or ingredients we can pick up that seem to do nothing. Sometimes characters allude to things you can do with these items, but again it’s unclear. Is this just trial and error? Search around until you accidentally find stuff, then search around for places to put those items together?
4 - We found these challenges we can participate in in IX by cutting ropes in the beginning, there was no guidance that we needed to do this. We felt like we had been missing out in all previous IX runs when we discovered this. Do other maps have these kinds of mechanics?
4 - What is Nebulium Plasma used for, is it just Elixirs? What are Elixirs? There's a store that sells Elixirs, but I have no clue what they do, so why would I buy them?
Thanks for any help!
